Familieloop 20016

As I am sure you have heard from your children, as part of this year’s school development we are all working on improving our levels of fitness in the Primary.  Continuing on with this theme, we would like to invite you to join us in the Familieloop (family run) which is part of the annual Singeloop (runs of varying distances) which will take place in Breda on the 2nd October.

The Familieloop is a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to enjoy our beautiful city of Breda, while participating in a special event. It is a fun, inclusive event which is enthusiastically supported along the route. You can chose to participate in the 1860 or 3830 metre route. Lots of other schools with their families will also be participating. You can take part either by walking, running or a combination of both. However you decide to complete the distance,  the important thing is to have lots of fun.

The run will start at the Chasséveld with a warm up at 16:00 and finish at the Grote Markt. All those participating from the ISB will meet at the Chasseveld so that we can start together. Further detailed information can be found at the following website:

http://bredasesingelloop.nl/afstanden/kindersport-familieloop/.

If you and your child/ren would like to practice for the event, our Olympian mum Daphne Touw (Mats and Sanne’s mum) has kindly offered to help you and your child to prepare on the following dates: 14th, 21st and the 28th September. The practice will take place as soon as you have collected your child. If you would like to attend any of the training sessions please email Daphne directly  harm.daphne@gmail.com

We look forward to seeing as many families as possible on 2nd October.

This week has been a truly amazing week with so much going on!

Today we have all been celebrating our annual Mother Tongue Language Day. All the children, parents and teachers dressed up in clothes that represent their mother tongue language/s.

The children participated in a range of workshops which represented some of the languages that are spoken within our school. Some of the language workshops the children enjoyed were Spanish, French, Chinese, Greek, Hungarian, Dutch and Turkish.

Story time!

On Monday we were visited by a group of teachers from secondary and primary schools in the Brabant area who are studying innovate education as part of their masters degrees. They were very impressed with our fantastic children and the way our teaching team support our children’s learning.

On Thursday we met some new friends from  De Springplank, a primary school in Teteringen (2 mixed class of children in Groups 6,7 and 8). During this week the children from De Springplank have been having an English week, as part their special week they visited our school. They joined in a singing lesson, took part in a reading session (both Dutch and English). Afterwards all the children played together and then had a tour of our school.

We look forward to welcoming the children from De Springplank back to our school in the not too distant future!
